Squeaky Beach, Australia.

A photo post about my visit to Squeaky beach.
A beach made of rounded quartz sand that ‘squeaks’ when you walk on it. This is a great beach where the sand is so fine that it squeaks (hence the name) when you walk across it. Like all the beaches in this National Park, the water is stunningly clear.
One of the best beaches I have seen in Oz Land so far. Lovely white sand, beautiful clear water, massive rocks and vegetation make this place like out of this world. Parking might be a struggle sometimes because this is also a National Park.
Its a great walk around Squeaky beach where the surf is good and the beach is pristine. Be aware the waves are strong at this location. You have to love those huge rocks and while you are walking towards them, push your feet into the sand and listen to squeak, squeak, squeak of the sand grains rubbing together.
This spot its also part of Wilson’s Promontory National Park, located about 3 hours/220km Southeast of Melbourne you can also have a family picnic here, hike the 5.8 kilometer Lilly Pully Gully Circuit Walk , bird watching, wildlife spotting, sightseeing panoramic views of Tidal River and the offshore rock formations.
When hiking the Prom as is known by the locals., be on the lookout for snakes, particularly Eastern Tiger Snakes. It was only after stumbling across one of these snakes at the base of a tree just off one of the tracks that I learned (by reading not from personal experience) that they are highly aggressive, extremely fast and accurate striking, and lethally venomous. Unprovoked, they also are quite beautiful.
Such a beautiful location. It would be so nice to have access to a place like this at anytime. Jealous of those that live there for sure!
Kellie, that would be a nice spot for a retirement place for sure. ahhh! sorry I’m day dreaming.. Maybe one day,. but you know they only come through if you work at it. All the best.

That looks amazing! I have been to beaches with squeaky sand, however, they have all been in the United States. I love the videos!
Thank you Jason. It was a very great place to have visit. Can you tell me where in the States I can find squeaky beaches?

The huge cliffs and bluffs are amazingly high and give you a great vantage point. Thanks for writing this up, it brings back memories that I made about 20 years ago with my new wife!
You are very welcome Paul. I think my post accomplished something unique by giving you a bit of joyful memories. Makes me happy too. Best, G.
When I was in Australia it was one of the best memories that I ever had in my life. The place is so amazing with the expanding landscapes and a whole new world of animals, mammals and reptiles!
Judith,
I did not like the reptile thing while camping but I certainly enjoy the beach a lot. A unique landscape for sure. Its one of those places you would go back to visit again, wouldn’t you? Glad you like the post. G.
