Winning the Croatian Lottery
Seriously,.. when I first went to Croatia I though I have won the lottery,. Number one: I went to meet new family who embraced me like another son. Number two: Telenovelas put a good word for us Latin Americans. Number Three: The Beaches man,. the beaches!..
You could not imagine that you are going to a country withing an hour flight from some of the most populous urban centers in Europe and not notice that there is this utopia of sun, water and the 50+ spf sunscreen your body will feel thankful for.
The Coast is speckled with dozens of magnificent islands that range from tiny, verdant and unpopulated to massive, arid and sporting ancient towns and villages. One of the delights is hopping between them on numerous ferries, catamarans and taxi boats or, if you’re blessed, your own sailing boat.
Apart from being hardly populated and undeveloped most of the Islands on the Dalmatia coast of Croatia are quieter, perfect for wandering around Primeval forest, visiting aging hilltop towns, swimming in hidden coves and sampling some of the region’s local wine and cuisine., my favorite is Pedoche. Mussels mix with a traditional recipe of olive oil, herbs, bread crumbs, garlic and a touch of the most divine home made white wine you’ve never tasted.
If I would have never taken a chance to come here I would have been a f…ing idiot!. Have you taken a chance like that?..
